How are walking calories calculated?

This calculator uses MET (metabolic equivalent of task) values for different walking speeds. The formula multiplies your weight in kg by the MET value and the duration of your walk in hours.

A 30-minute brisk walk burns roughly 150 to 200 calories for most adults. Walking more steps each day is one of the most sustainable ways to manage weight long term.
